Yeeeerrrrrrrrrrr, meet Kelvin Neris! This New York native is no stranger to the game. He's a second generation barber inspired by his grandfather and his iron will to succeed. Kelvin went from cutting his brothers hair in a kitchen to the cutting floor at the Catalyst Barber Co. Wherever Kelvin goes he is recognized for his leadership qualities. First being offered an instructor position at the barber school he attended and working his way up to the role of management now at Catalyst Barber Co. Due to his fearlessness, obsession, and dedication the game, Mak has cemented himself as a heavy hitter. Big man, big heart for family and the community in which he serves. If you ever have the opportunity to sit down in his chair, you will most-definitely not regret it.
Brianna Thompson

Brianna Thompson has been doing exclusively men's hair since 2016. Originally in college for radiologic technology, this young driven woman decided to direct her career towards creativity by honing in her artistic abilities to make anyone look and feel fantastic. She has a true passion for helping others which helps her to remain determined in this male-dominated industry. She's very excited to work alongside the other amazing barbers on our team, and as iron sharpens iron, she is quickly making a name for herself. Isaac "Hardwork" Herman

Isaac has always been a highly dedicated, determined, and attentive person. Whatever it is that he pursues he does so diligently until reaching a point of mastery. Isaac realized how much he enjoyed the process of getting a good haircut and decided to undertake the challenge of implementing one himself; getting some of his longtime friends to let him practice his newfound craft on them. Also being aware of the level of flexibility that being a barber could bring, leaving him time to tackle other things in which he takes interest. Eventually deciding to go to barber college shortly after high school, and then once graduated, stepping onto the cutting floor at Catalyst Barber Co. You can catch him skateboarding, playing guitar, or laying in his tattoo artists chair in his spare time. If you catch him in the shop, just know you'll get one of the best services you've ever had!
Ike Kinard

"Get right with Ike!" Ike Kinard was raised in Liberty, MO. Ike has had the desire to be a barber since the age of 15. It was then that he realized he always had to go to a neighboring city to get a good haircut. His hometown lacked that safe haven where men can talk, laugh, and debate about sports. (Ike is obsessed with sports being a huge Georgia fan since childhood.) So he was inspired to fill that void and take on the profession of barbering to provide a service and environment that he was looking for in his hometown. Ike is charismatic, affable, and an all around authentic person. You will always enjoy your time when Ike is in the room, and you'll enjoy your service even more.
Luis Vazquez

Luis "Louie V. Blendz" Vazquez is a real heavy hitter, and he is coming for the crown! Born in Denver, Colorado and migrating to Kansas City at a young age, he now knows this as home. Luis is a natural go-getter, easily using this nature to chase after his dreams of being a professional barber. Now that he's landed on the Catalyst team he aims to perfect any haircut or style that comes his way. Luis is also a music junky and you can usually catch him late nights at the shop pumping artists like J.Cole, Lil Baby, and Tupac. He plans on taking the skills that he develops throughout his career in hopes of one day opening his own barbershop and barber school. Follow Luis as he turns his dreams today into reality tomorrow!
Kaywan Qaradagi

If you’re trying to get A-1, then you gotta check out K-1! Originally born in Kurdistan, Kaywan’s family escaped oppression by migrating to the United States with a 1 year old Kaywan and 3 older siblings in search of a better life. Kaywan’s family has always had a knack for business so it was natural for him to follow in the footsteps of his 3 older siblings and obtain a degree in Business Administration, which he is very proud of. During college he always found himself watching barber videos on instagram and youtube because they were oddly satisfying to him, much like the satisfaction he felt from getting his own hair cut. With the direct correlation to his degree, Kaywan took the approach to self business administration by choosing the profession of Barbering. After consulting with his wife he decided to press the button and attend Klassic Transformations barber college, and the rest is history. K-1 is extremely down to earth, and eager to transform the lives of his clients like barbering is doing for his family and him. Any style, any hair type, K-1’s chair is where you need to be.
Bezhin Barzinji

Bezhin (pronounced BAY-SHAWN) is one of the most attentive and humble people that you'll meet. Attentive to learning, developing his skills, and most importantly, attentive to your haircut. Humble in the way that he found barbering by providing haircuts to Kurdish refugees over seas, inspiring him start barber school when he returned. With a background in car sales, and bartending, Bezhin is a natural when it comes to customer service, always aiming to make sure his clients leave feeling confident in their haircut and with their new look. This guy is pretty straight forward so if you have a question, just shoot, and if you want that style that's going to change the game, just ask.
Alo Hernandez

Alo, also know as “Barbwired”, is the newest addition to our team. She discovered her passion for barbering when seeking a career that combined her artistic vision, love of meeting new people, and tireless attention to detail. She has paved her own way in the industry as a first-generation Latina barber, broadening horizons for women in Kansas City and the stylist industry at large! James Wilson

Originally from Richmond, MO, James stumbled upon his passion for barbering during a visit to a barbershop. He noticed that the barber there radiated with happiness, seeming to enjoy what he did. Realizing how rare it was for someone to truly enjoy their job and life, he knew he wanted the same for himself. With this he decided to step into barbering and two years into the craft, he finds fulfillment in making people feel better about themselves through his creative focus. Beyond the barber's chair, James is an enthusiastic photographer, capturing diverse moments. During leisure, he enjoys watching movies and shows, along with attending concerts and car shows.

Gabrielle is a Kansas City, Mo native. Has been doing hair since 2012, enjoys serving her community , and enjoys helping teach along the way. My sweet spot is helping people feel good about themselves, a haircut is more than just a haircut it’s a confidence builder. In my free time, I love hanging with my amazing daughter, friends and family. I enjoy going to the movies, animal lover, retail therapy, traveling, and nature.
